Our mission is simple: To make owning and maintaining your home as convenient and stress-free as living in an apartment.
About Us
Caboodle is working to revolutionize the home service industry. As homeowners, we know how fragmented and archaic the industry can feel. Service providers are hard to find, often messy and not professional. Rarely is communication convenient, estimates and invoicing are done on paper and prices range thousands of dollars for the same service.
Most companies that have started out to help ease the pain focus on connecting existing service providers with home owners through a marketplace. This is good for them; since they charge hefty sums of money to either the home owner or service provider, but don’t guarantee any level of service. Caboodle is different. We’re your one-stop-shop to manage, maintain, repair and upgrade your home.
We want to build a relationship with you…not just complete a job and move on to the next one. Become a member of the Caboodle family today!
Caboodle began as both an observed need and personal necessity. Co-founders Thomas and Tyler each grew up in rural areas with blue collar parents. When they met at UNC they had no idea where their journeys would take them, but they both ended up in Charlotte pursuing corporate careers.
Thomas eventually decided to venture out into real estate and quickly realized that very few millennials knew anything about how to manage or maintain their home. He immediately sat down and began to dream of a way he could solve this need in the market.

Then, about a month after he sold him his first home, Thomas got a panicked phone call from Tyler. Tyler explained that he came home to a hot house (in the middle of summer) so he called a well known local HVAC company. When the company came out, they told him that he needed a brand new A/C unit that would cost him upwards of $8,000. Thomas knew this wasn’t right; after all, the unit was less than 3 years old, had just been inspected and was working perfectly the day before.
Thomas met Tyler at his house later that day and they began to look around the HVAC unit. They quickly identified a large splatter of oil on the ground near one of the connections on the unit. It was obvious (since they had prior knowledge of these systems) what had happened: There was a leak in the system where all the gas had leaked out. Long story short, they eventually identified a crack in the connector, repaired the pipe and recharged the system with coolant…all for under $400.
For the next three years, Thomas began to learn everything he could about the home service industry. During this time, he continued to sell real estate, while also launching a number of successful home service businesses. The more homeowners he talked to, the more the need for a personal maintenance department for individual property owners was observed. After three year, he finally decided he had enough experience and knowledge to bring this novel concept to market.
When he began to search around for a co-founder to help launch the business, Tyler was the most obvious choice. To begin with, he is much smarter and better with numbers, but more importantly, he had a personal experience that he didn’t want any other homeowners to have to go through.
Today, Tyler and Thomas have put together one of the most experienced teams of home service professionals in the greater Charlotte area, to help homeowners manage their homes.
